Origin Codes
Origin codes identify where an action in the PDCflow system or its APIs started. Each transaction and FLOW is tagged with an origin code to show how it was initiated.
How Origin Codes Are Used
Origin codes are mainly a reporting tool. They help managers and business owners understand which payment channels are performing best.
For example, if you want to know how many online payments were made, open your financial reports, choose the WEB origin code in the search options, and run your report. This will display all online transactions in your selected date range.
Origin codes also help when providing Proof of Authorization for ACH payments. If proof is requested for an online transaction, pull up the transaction details and look for the origin code WEB. This confirms the payment was made online—no additional proof of authorization is needed.
