The purpose of this article is to help readers set up a Test Flow in a new PDCflow account.
Getting Ready to Use Flows!
With the following step-by-step tutorial you will be able to set up a test Flow within your app.pdcflow.com account. Afterward, you’ll have the ability to edit and set up Flows so your team can send communications to customers to request payments, request images, request signatures, or send documents.
Step 1: In your PDCflow account, navigate to Configure > Templates > Flows
Step 2: Click + New Template and then select the Flow option from the dropdown menu. When your new configuration page loads, you will see a preview panel on the right-hand side of the screen. This displays a mockup preview of how the Flow will appear to your customers. On the left-hand side of the screen, you’ll see a Settings and a Fields tab.
Step 3: On the Settings tab, enter the following settings to start creating your Test Flow.
- FLOW NAME: “Test Flow”
- FLOW DESCRIPTION: “First Flow Test”
- REQUEST GEOLOCATION: “No”
- MAXIMUM PIN ATTEMPTS: “5”
Step 4: Click over to the Fields tab and enter the following information into the fields.
- FLOW OPTIONS:
- Select Send Document
- Select Editable
- PIN DESCRIPTION:
- Click “New” and create a new PIN:
- PIN DESCRIPTION: “Last 4 digits of your cell phone number”
- PIN LENGTH: 4
- Select Required
- Select Editable
- CONFIRMATION MESSAGE:
- Click “New” and create a new confirmation message
- CONFIRMATION MESSAGE: “Thank you for reviewing this document.”
- Select Required
- Select Editable
- DOCUMENT OVERLAY:
- Click “New” and create a new document overlay
- Upload document: download our Example-Contract here (or from the link included at the bottom of the article), then upload this pdf to your account by clicking the “Upload document button
- OVERLAY NAME: “Example Contract”
- Click the “Big Signature” option
- Click on Example-Contract.pdf preview and you’ll see a blue rectangle appear. This is the designated Big Signature area. Drag the blue box until it is right above the signature line on the Example-Contract.pdf preview.
- Click the “Save overlay” button
- Select Show
- Select Editable
Step 5: Save your Test Flow
- Click the save icon (floppy disc icon) and your new Test Flow will be saved
Step 6: Send yourself a test Flow
Send yourself a Test Flow:
- In the primary navigation, click DASHBOARD
- Select the “Test Flow” option listed in your Flows
- Enter your own contact information into the Flow fields:
- MOBILE NUMBER
- FIRST NAME
- LAST NAME
- VERIFICATION PIN (last 4 digits of your mobile phone number)
- Enter the following information into the other Flow fields:
- PIN DESCRIPTION: Last 4 digits of your mobile phone number
- CONFIRMATION MESSAGE: select the “Thank you for reviewing this document” option
- DOCUMENT UPLOAD: Upload the Example-Contract.pdf you used during the Test Flow setup
- Click the “Send Flow” button and you will see a notification letting you know the FLOW has been sent!
Step 7: Opening your test Flow
- Once you have successfully sent your Flow, you will have received an email and/or text message with the Flow. Click on the link included within that communication to see the Flow. When you open the link you will then be able to complete the Flow:
- Enter your validation code (last 4 digits of your cell phone number)
- Click “Validate"
- Click on the Signature box of the Example Contact and sign it with your mouse
- Click “Save”
- Click “Accept Page”
- Click “Done”
And You're Done!
Now that you’ve created your first Flow you can create any other Flows with the workflow customizations that suit your business needs. Some Flow options that you may want to utilize include:
- Request Signature: send a simple agreement for a customer to sign
- Send Documents: send contracts and agreements for customers to review
- Request Picture ID: request and gather IDs or other documents and images from your contacts
- *Request Payment: send payment requests via email and text and gather credit card and ACH payments from your customers
