DESCRIPTION –
Departments are a useful tool for organizing access to settings and functionality for groups of people. Department settings can be used to limit access to Group and Location settings. Access to FLOWs and portals, as well as the data from them, can also be controlled with Department settings. Once a user has been assigned to a Department, the Department-level permissions will be enforced for that user.
ACCESSING DEPARTMENTS –
You can access Department Management from the primary navigation’s Account tab. Click the Department option in the dropdown menu.
From the Department Management page, you can create and manage your departments.
ADDING A NEW DEPARTMENT –
To create a new department, click the Add a New Department button.
In the “Add a New Department” screen, enter a Name for the department. From here, you will be able to assign specific Groups/Locations, as well as any FLOW and portal access assignments as needed for this department. Click the “Save department” button when you have finished.
You can also add a new department by copying an existing department: click the copy icon (stack of papers) for the department. Enter a name for the department and make any other access adjustments necessary. Click the “Save department” button when you are done.
EDITING A NEW DEPARTMENT –
To edit an existing department, click the edit icon (pencil) for the department.
In the “Edit Department” screen make any location and group access assignments adjustments needed. You can also make any FLOW and portal access adjustments as needed. Click the “Save department” button when you have finished.
DELETING A DEPARTMENT –
To delete a department you must first remove any user assignments to that department.
To delete a department, go to the Department Management page and click on the delete icon (trashcan) next to the Department Name you wish to delete. Then click the Remove department button on the confirmation window.
